ARTIST: Aqualung (UK)

I sometimes have the habbit to dig out my old loves. So have I done today. I remember the first time I saw Aqualung's video from some local youth program few years ago. The song - "Strange and beautiful" got me from the first beats and the video was awesome too - there was this hand-draw man moving on white background or something. I tried to find it from YouTube, but seems there's available only this version of the video. Too bad:(
Anyway the man behind the music is Matt Hales. Talented boy that Matt - he has been learning music most of his life and composed his first symphony “Life Cycle” at the age of 17. Not bad, heh? Before Aqualung he and his brother Ben had several bands some with no success at all and some more successful. You can read more and listen to the song samples of these band from Aqualung's homepage here. As most of these bands sound the same to me, I have been wondering how he ended up to Aqualung, which sounds so different from the others - so light and abounding. The breakthrough came in 2002 with VW Beetle advert, which used his before mentioned song "Strange and Beautiful". For now he hasn't released albums in 3 years, but don't worry. There is one coming. Keep your ears sharp!

hehe, i wouldn't say it sounds less dying-like than mogwai :P but he sure looks & sounds cute, can't argue with that!
Are you kidding me!!?? It sure sounds more living than Mogwai!! At least here is someone singing.
