GROUP: Le man avec les lunettes (ITA)
Italy..Italy...Italy...first associasons to this word are smooth talking men with shiny hair from local bars trying to hit on everything that walks. Pretty sad...isn't it!?
I mean my narrow-mindness!! I should seriously expand my world. Thank god we got this great e-mail from Italy yesterday! Now I know, that they also have this great band called Le man avec les lunettes there. Actually, the name is in French and I have no idea what it means. But the point is that they sound great. Seriously!
I especially like this song here. It's kind of layered, so I was a bit confused about the sound the first time, but now I know I love it. The other tracks are catchy (like this one), mellow (Our driver goes fast) and heartwarming (Tennis system and it's stars), but still have this "on guard" feeling (i.e. Victoria's swimming pool). In other words I really like it and you should too, if you have nothing against Sir Indie and his relatives.

They have released a debut composing by songs that are bundled up in the pop spirit with influence of Belle & Sebastian, Blur, Beatles, Beach Boys. The band hails from northern Italy and plays a mellow, laidback, melancholy, but at the same time somewhat ironic, music, mixing twee pop, weird electronic backgound noises with some kind of warm jazzy feel. The first Italian band to ever be picked to perform at Sweden's Emmaboda festival, France, with over 50 Italian shows.

Ma sain ka neilt kirja kunagi (pool aastat tagasi umbes) ja nad olid mul juba meelest läinud. Nüüd peaks uuesti ette võtma nad. Viimasel ajal on välismaalastest ainult rootslased endast märku andnud (nii 4-5 tükki).
Minu arust on päris positiivne selline personaalne lähenemine, kui mingi bänd viitsib endast maili teel blogijatele märku anda.
